Revelation16:13 And I saw three unclean inspired expressions [that looked] like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon and out of the mouth of the wild beast and out of the mouth of the false prophet. 14 They are, in fact, expressions inspired by demons and perform signs, and they go forth to the kings of the entire inhabited earth, to gather them together to the war of the great day of God the Almighty.

Verse 14 shows that they are the ones who inspired by demons and making signs and wonders around the world. Well, certainly there is no single person or group that would refer to these identities. How do we say that? It says they are going forth to the kings of the entire inhabited earth. Who’s group represented by a single person would go to kings all over the earth and would lead or deceive them or whose person would lead the world against the truth? Continents have different religions. There are Islams, Hinduism, Buddhism and Christian denominations etc. So definitely, no single group or a single person can conquer or deceive the heart of the people of the world. Islam is different with the teachings of Christianity, so as the Buddhism to Hinduism. So by this the false prophet can refer to another identity. So let us identify the identity of the False Prophet.

Mark 13:21 “Then, too, if anyone says to YOU, ‘See! Here is the Christ,’ ‘See! There he is,’ do not believe [it]. 22 For false Christs and false prophets will arise and will give signs and wonders to lead astray, if possible, the chosen ones. 23 YOU, then, watch out; I have told YOU all things beforehand.

This is also the same in 2 Thessalonians chapter 2 where the Man of Lawlessness or the Son of Destruction were used by Satan to give signs and wonders to misled the people. Please read my other blog below entitled “The man of Lawlessness as the False Prophet”.

The actions of the false prophets mentioned by Jesus in Mark 13:21 were the same in the Revelation 16:13. They are both performing signs. Giving wonders to the eyes of the people.

Matthew 7:15 “Be on the watch for the false prophets that come to YOU in sheep’s covering, but inside they are ravenous wolves.

Why there is a single false prophet mention in the Revelation, when in fact there are lots of false prophets in the world who are making wonders and signs in the sight of the people? Would it make a difference against the other false prophets? There is no difference between these verses. They all fall to as the false prophet. All preachers who tell lies or unscriptural teachings belong to Satan for Satan is the Father of Lie. – John 8:44. Those false prophets tell lies as what mention in 1 Timothy 4:1 – 2 which says, “However, the inspired utterance says definitely that in later periods of time some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to misleading inspired utterances and teachings of demons, 2 by the hypocrisy of men who speak lies, marked in their conscience as with a branding iron; …”

So the False Prophet mention in Revelation was already foretold in 1 Timothy 4:1. These people were inspired by the teachings of demons. He is not just a single person but referred to people who belong to “the hypocrisy of men who speak lies”. We can definitely agree on it through the words of Jesus in Mark 13:21.

Revelation 16:13 And I saw three unclean inspired expressions [that looked] like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon and out of the mouth of the wild beast and out of the mouth of the false prophet.

Some people may think that this unclean inspired expressions show as in speaking of vulgar or obscene words. People are seeking for a false prophet that would speak of vulgar or obscene and bad words. I doubt if there is a false prophet claims to be a real prophet who would speak of vulgar and obscene words in public. Well, these false prophets would definitely speak in gentle words to gather many people. Just like Satan is portraying as an angel of light. So how come the false prophet speak of unclean words or expressions? Clean words don’t show only decency of words but rather showing purity and truthfulness. The words of God are clean for he never lie (Titus 1:2). Once a person teaches of things he thinks and never consider the truth in the Bible, then can you say his words are pure and clean? Of course it is not. A true preacher follows the verse below.

Titus 2:6 Likewise keep on exhorting the younger men to be sound in mind, 7 in all things showing yourself an example of fine works; showing uncorruptness in your teaching, seriousness, 8 wholesome speech which cannot be condemned; so that the man on the opposing side may get ashamed, having nothing vile to say about us. And also this verse.

2 Peter1:2 May undeserved kindness and peace be increased to YOU by an accurate knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, 3 for as much as his divine power has given us freely all the things that concern life and godly devotion, through the accurate knowledge of the one who called us through glory and virtue. 4 Through these things he has freely given us the precious and very grand promises, that through these YOU may become sharers in divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world through lust.

Of course if you have an accurate knowledge from God and from Jesus, then certainly you will also have an accurate knowledge to teach with the other people.

God’s people have talked and wrote the Scriptures through the Holy Spirit of God. They were inspired by Jehovah. – 2 Peter 1:20-21; 2 Timothy 3:16.

On the other hand false prophets were inspired by demons and Satan – spreading false teachings to people.

Identifying the Man of Lawlessness as the False Prophet

2 Thessalonians 2:3 Let no one seduce YOU in any manner, because it will not come unless the apostasy comes first and the man of lawlessness gets revealed, the son of destruction. 4 He is set in opposition and lifts himself up over everyone who is called “god” or an object of reverence, so that he sits down in the temple of The God, publicly showing himself to be a god. 5 Do YOU not remember that, while I was yet with YOU, I used to tell YOU these things? 6 And so now YOU know the thing that acts as a restraint, with a view to his being revealed in his own due time. 7 True, the mystery of this lawlessness is already at work; but only till he who is right now acting as a restraint gets to be out of the way. 8 Then, indeed, the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will do away with by the spirit of his mouth and bring to nothing by the manifestation of his presence. 9 But the lawless one’s presence is according to the operation of Satan with every powerful work and lying signs and portents 10 and with every unrighteous deception for those who are perishing, as a retribution because they did not accept the love of the truth that they might be saved. 11 So that is why God lets an operation of error go to them, that they may get to believing the lie, 12 in order that they all may be judged because they did not believe the truth but took pleasure in unrighteousness.” – NWT

Verse 4 of the said chapter shows he is ready to oppose gods and to an object of reverence [object of worship in other translations]. Well some people could be gods both good and bad – 1 Corinthians 8:5. Now, let us focus on the highlight word “object of reverence” or “object of worship”. Definitely reverence is a word which determine for a good thing. A person can acquire reverence or respect if he can show and earn a status which is acceptable to Jehovah. So by this we can be sure that this lawless man is against the good things or simply not giving respect on the truth in the Bible. My first understanding before here is that this person is used by Satan to denounce the false religion. But I have changed my conception. If this is a single person that will be killed by Jesus on Armageddon (see the preceding verse of it) then how come he, with a false teachings in himself, would used by Satan against the false teachings? It was said in Mark 3:22 – 26 that Satan could not be against himself or a kingdom cannot stand against the kingdom itself.

9 But the lawless one’s presence is according to the operation of Satan with every powerful work and lying signs and portents 10 and with every unrighteous deception for those who are perishing, as a retribution because they did not accept the love of the truth that they might be saved.

We know a lie cannot correct another lie. Thus a deception would not lead to truth but leading again to another deception of false teachings. We also know that anyone who is against the truth is a transgressor. Therefore, the word “deception” here refers to the deception of the false prophets that bring perish to those who listen to them. Thus the son of destruction in verse 3 is not a single person. Satan would not be against himself. Would Satan give a chance for the other strayed people to get out from the false religion and let them enter to a true congregation of God? I don’t think he would do in favor of the truth because Satan is the Father of lie. – John 8:44 Why would Satan give a chance for the other people to find the truth? The truth is he would do everything to mislead the people. Verse 11 shows God is allowing the error to the strayed people for them to believe the lie so that they will be judged by God. Who is the “son of destruction”? If you are going to look what Jesus said on John 17:12 which states, ” When I was with them I used to watch over them on account of your own name which you have given me; and I have kept them, and not one of them is destroyed except the son of destruction, in order that the scripture might be fulfilled.”

He mentioned that none of his apostles have been destroyed except with the son of destruction. We know that one of his apostles namely Judas Iscariot betrayed him. This was the one whom Jesus referring to. The term destroy means there is no life after all, life had ceased already, no chance of having life again. Satan is the cause of death beginning from Adam and Eve. He is the reason for the death of mankind. The wicked people were considered as the sons of the wicked one, none other than Satan. – Matthew 13:38.

Verse 9 and 10 says that the lawless man one is under the power of Satan. Also Satan would not allow the truth to be seen by the people. He would always want to mislead the people. So this transgressor identified as “the lawless man” that Satan is telling lies to other people and bringing them all through the judgment of Almighty God. So I would also agree with the JW that these are the false prophets around the world.

2 Corinthians 11: 13 For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. 14 And no wonder, for Satan himself keeps transforming himself into an angel of light. 15 It is therefore nothing great if his ministers also keep transforming themselves into ministers of righteousness. But their end shall be according to their works.

Verse 10 says the payment or retribution came to them (judging them by God) because they did not accept the love of truth for them to be saved. People around the world are rejecting the word of God which is being brought by his people, the Jehovah’s Witnesses. They believe on what most people say about JW and not examining the truth on the Scriptures that they present. These people who are in false religion were tickled their ears by the teachings of the false prophets. Jehovah would not let a person be misled if this person is really seeking for the truth. He would always send a minister or find a way to let this people be on his congregation. However, a person who is against JW and never listen or entertain them would not have the truth even he prayed for a million times to Almighty God because that person himself keeps rejecting the truth.
